Becoming An Associate Caboose Hunter

Looking for cabooses can be a fun and cool thing to do. But there is no reason Traci and I are the only ones doing it for oklahomacabooses.us–you can do it, too!

What is An Associate Caboose Hunter?

So what is that thing we call, an "Associate Caboose Hunter?" Well, it’s someone who helps us find cabooses in Oklahoma. Pretty simple, right?

And we need help! After all, life intrudes, and there is just not enough time in the day to travel everywhere in the state to find these cool railroad cars and see the places around them.

Not only do we need good, recent photos of the cabooses in the state, but we also need solid information about them. The includes their history, as well as current ownership. And that also includes information about cars that are no longer around–shipped out of state or simply destroyed.

All of this information helps us paint the complete picture of the state of cabooses in Oklahoma.

Who Are Our Associates?

Do we have any Associate Caboose Hunters right now? Well, yes we do! We have two–very good friends of ours, Stephanie and Diana.

Stephanie is a very old friend of Traci’s. She went on a girls’ trip with Traci, and they happened to find a caboose on the way back, way up in Wagoner. She helped Traci get the photos of the car and the drive.

Diana is another old friend of both Traci and me and has worked with us both. Diana earned her spot by tracking down and buying a copy of the 2008 book "Captive Cabeese In America." That book contains lists of cabooses in ALL states, not just Oklahoma! Diana gave us that book for Christmas, and it was a huge surprise. It has proven extremely helpful!

How Do You Become One?

Simple! Give us some info. Find a caboose that we have not visited yet, or give us information about any caboose (even ones we have visited).

You can find the list of cabooses we have both identified and visited on our site. If you have information about any of those railroad cars, let us know by email at contact@oklahomacabooses.us. You can also send us photos at that address as well.

And that’s it. Really. We really enjoy working with other people to gather information about this fun little hobby of ours and would love to have you all help us, too.

So becoming an Associate Caboose Hunter is easy, fun–and helps us tremendously! If you want to be part of the fun, just contact us and let us know…
