Harrah, Oklahoma

On the last Saturday of our Oklahoma Vacation, we went to the McCloud Blackberry Festival. On our way home, we used that opportunity to see if we could locate some more cabooses. AT&SF 999211 was one of the three we found.

We did not find this caboose on the ok.railfan.net listing, but found it by seeing the grain elevators and other railway cars. As we turned off the highway and into Harrah, we found the Harrah History Center on Main Street and Church Avenue (SH 270).

Like many of the museums that we have been finding, it was closed. This may have been from it being early Saturday or because of COVID. We were not able to get past the fence to get close to the caboose, but we were able to walk around and get some better than usual photos.

The caboose itself seemed to be in fair shape, if a little rusted. I want to get up close to it and get some photos of the inside, if that is possible.

We did not explore the downtown of Harrah that morning, but instead got back on the road and headed on to our next target–Choctaw. I do want to circle back to the Harrah History Center and get more info on this caboose (and the other cars, too).
